Latest Coronavirus Infection Rates In All Boroughs Of Greater Manchester: Fewer Coronavirus Cases 

According to the latest data of Public Health England, coronavirus infection rates in almost all boroughs of Greater Manchester have fallen. Trafford is the only borough that the infection rates are increasing in the region.

The overall infection rate for Greater Manchester is now 86.9 cases per 100,000 people. That figure is still higher than the national average which is 49.6 cases per 100,000. 

Here are the latest infection rates in all boroughs of Greater Manchester:

Bolton

Bolton has the highest infection rate in Greater Manchester. There were 304 positive COVID-19 tests in the last week. With a 3% decrease in the figures comparing the previous week, the infection rate of Bolton is 105.7.

Oldham

The infection rate of Oldham is still much higher than the national average and it is second highest in Greater Manchester..250 positive tests were reported over the last week in Oldham. The infection rate of Oldham is down by 2% and now the infection rate of Oldham is 105.5 cases per 100,000 people.

Tameside

With a 15% decrease in the figures, the latest infection rate in Tameside is 98.9 cases per 100,000 people.224 people tested positive in Tameside over the last seven days that is 40 fewer comparing the previous week.

Manchester

Comparing the previous week, there is only a 1% decrease in the infection rate of Manchester.509 positive COVID-19 cases were reported last week in Manchester. The infection rate in Manchester is now 92.1 cases per 100,000 people.

Rochdale

The infection rate in Rochdale is decreasing like most of the other boroughs of Greater Manchester. With 48 fewer cases and a 19% decrease in the infection rate in Rochdale, the latest infection rate is 89.9 cases per 100,000 people in Rochdale.

Salford

Only a 4% decrease in the infection rate was reported last week in Salford. According to the latest data, there are 224 positive coronavirus cases in Salford last seven days. The infection rate in Salford is now 86.5 cases per 100,000 people.

Wigan

The infection rate in Wigan is now 77.6 cases per 100,000 population with a 25% decrease in the infection rate comparing the previous week.255 positive coronavirus cases were reported last week in Wigan which is 86 fewer than the previous week.

Trafford

Trafford is the only borough in Greater Manchester that a rise in the infection rate was reported. The number of cases is up by 49% last week. The infection rate in Trafford is now 74.6 cases per 100,000 population. Last week,177 positive cases were reported in Trafford that was 58 more than the previous 7 days.

Bury

The infection rate in Bury decreased by 22% last week. The infection rate in Bury is now 67.5 cases per 100,000 people. There were 129 cases recorded in Bury that 36 fewer than the previous week.

Stockport

Stockport now has the lowest infection rate in Greater Manchester. The infection rate is down by 15% last week and the latest infection rate in Stockport is 65.1 cases per 100,000 people which is still higher than the national average. The borough recorded 191 positive coronavirus tests over the last seven days.
