Ten Boroughs Record Falls Once Again-Latest COVID-19 Infection Rates For Greater Manchester

The latest data of Public Health England showed that the coronavirus infection rates in all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester have recorded falls once again. The infection rate of Greater Manchester is now 50.9 cases per 100,000 population.

Rochdale still has the highest infection rates in the region. The lowest infection rate of Greater Manchester has been recorded in Salford this week. The overall infection rate of Greater Manchester is still higher than the national average that is 29.9. But the overall infection rate of Greater Manchester has decreased by 1,015 cases compared to the previous week which means the infection rate was down 41 per cent in the last week.

Here are the latest infection rates for Greater Manchester with the weekly trend in the figures :

Rochdale

Rochdale has the highest infection rates in Greater Manchester. With a 29 % decrease in the figures, the coronavirus infection rate in Rochdale is now 63.8 cases per 100,000 population.

Oldham

With a 42% decrease in the figures, Oldham has the second-highest infection rates in Greater Manchester. The infection rate of Oldham is close to Rochdale that now the infection rate is 61.2 for Oldham.

Bolton

A 45% decrease has been reported for the infection rate of Bolton last week. The infection rate of Bolton is 58.4 cases per 100,000 people. Bolton still has one of the highest infection rates in Greater Manchester.

Tameside

Like other boroughs of Greater Manchester, a huge decrease in the infection rates has been reported for Tameside. The infection rate of Tameside is now 57.0 with a 42% decrease comparing the previous week.

Manchester

With a 40% decrease, the infection rate of Manchester is now 55.5 cases per 100,000 population. In the last 24 hours, the infection rate of Manchester has continued to decrease.

Stockport

Even there is an upward trend in the last 24 hours for Stockport, a huge decrease in the infection rate of Stockport has been reported. With a 25% decrease in the figures, the infection rate of Stockport is now 48.7 cases per 100,000 people.

Wigan

With a 39% decrease, the infection rate of Wigan is now 46.9 cases per 100,000 people. In the last 24 hours, the figures have increased but Wigan still has one of the lowest infection rates in the region.

Bury

Comparing last week, a 36% decrease has been reported for the infection rate in Bury. The infection rate is now 43.5 which is still much higher than the national average. But in the last 24 hours, the infection rate in Bury has continued to downward trend.

Trafford

The infection rate of Trafford is 35.0 cases per 100,000 people that is one of the lowest infection rates in Greater Manchester. There is a significant decrease in the infection rate of Trafford comparing last week. A 53% decrease has been reported last week for the infection rate of Trafford.

Salford

Salford has the lowest infection rate in Greater Manchester. A huge 59% increase in the infection rate of Salford has been reported comparing the previous week. The infection rate of Salford is now 34.8cases per 100,000 people. In the last 24 hours, the downward trend has continued for Salford.
