Bowlee is making a comeback – dates for 2024 car boot sale and market revealed

Arranged by Rochdale Borough Council, the season at Bowlee Community Park in Middleton kicks off on Sunday, 17 March 2024 and continues on Sundays and bank holiday Mondays until at least Sunday, 18 August 2024 (apart from Sunday, 5 May 2024).

No need for sellers to book in advance, and the events run from 6am to 1.30pm. Prices remain unchanged for the 6th consecutive year at £15 for cars, £20 for small vans/people carriers/4X4s, and £25 for large vans and above. Buyers can park in over 1,200 spaces at £2.50 per vehicle.

The event, now in its 14th year, takes a break on Sunday, 5 May 2024 to make way for Tour de Manc – the annual Greater Manchester charity bike ride that starts from Bowlee Park with options for a 55km, 125km, 175km, or 205km ride.

Following the success of last year’s extended season with 5 additional sales, 25 sales will take place again this year. New for 2024, there will be no last-minute cancellations – a decision will be made by 6pm the day before if poor weather is predicted.

Councillor Liam O’Rourke, cabinet member for environment at Rochdale Borough Council, expressed his enthusiasm for the return of the much-loved event to Bowlee Community Park before Easter. He highlighted the growing popularity of the event and the opportunity for both buyers and sellers to discover unique items.

Located off Heywood Old Road (A6045), Middleton M24 4SB, Bowlee Community Park is easily accessible from the M60 (junction 19).
