Forum Theatre in Romiley set to open after progress made with contractor appointment and work starts to ensure safety.

Stockport Council is now in the final stages of confirming the contractor that will undertake the repair work to enable the much-loved theatre to open as soon as it is safe to do so. Work has already begun with temporary propping now in place to allow safe access for theatre staff and contractors. A plan has been agreed between the Council, the contractor and NK Arts to identify the key spaces needed for a phased reopening. Phase 1 will focus on the foyer, theatre, toilets, and back of house areas, with Phase 2 including further support areas and community spaces. Work will begin shortly once the final details are confirmed with the newly appointed contractor. Stay tuned for further updates as they become available.
