Where in Manchester you can Eat Out to Help Out this August

Restaurants and cafes across the UK are preparing for a much-needed boost to their intake next week, following months of low footfall in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

On August 3rd, the government’s ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme will begin. From Monday to Wednesday, across the whole of August, customers will be able to take advantage of a 50% discount on dine-in meals, subsidised by the government, to a maximum of £10.

But which businesses in Manchester will participate?

The hospitality industry has suffered an immense fall in revenue over the past few months and many restaurants and bars are choosing to take part in the scheme.

Popular chains including All Bar One; Burger King and Cafe Rouge have already announced their intention to take part in the scheme. However, to help customers narrow down their search, the government has also released a postcode checker to help identify the bargain choices on offer.

How does it work?

Simply visit the gov.uk website here and type your postcode into the search bar. The tool reveals any registered businesses within a radius of two miles, meaning all you have to do is select the cuisine you fancy and grab a bucket hat. No vouchers are needed and the deal can be used in conjunction with existing offers and discounts, should they apply.

A quick search in Manchester City Centre reveals over 100 establishments which are taking part, including Mancunian favourites: The Frog and Bucket Comedy Club; V Rev’s; and everyone’s favourite pizza place, Crazy Pedro’s.

There’s no minimum spend, so if you’re looking forward to a return to restaurant life this August, prepare to dig high.
