Luke Shaw named Player of the Month for February
United defender becomes fifth different player to win award
Fine February
Luke Shaw is being rewarded for his outstanding month with the Reds in February.
The Manchester United defender is the fifth player this season to take home the Player of the Month award.
It’s his first monthly award with the Red Devils since March 2019, a season in which he won the trophy three times.
His Achievements
Last month the left-back appeared in six matches for the Reds, providing an extra threat down the flank.
The 25-year-old had two assists in the 9-0 thumping of Southampton, his former club.
He set-up Scott McTominay’s header off a lovely free-kick in their 3-3 draw with Everton and found Bruno Fernandes for a brilliant volley in a draw versus West Brom.
Last game, he was defensively sound as the Reds played Chelsea to a 0-0 draw.
Shaw says he’s proud of how far he’s come with the Reds.
“I’m feeling good with creating stuff, and obviously, my target for each game is to win the game for the team with whatever I can do. Now I’m loving going forward and trying to help and create for the team.”
Shaw earned 37% of the fans votes this month.
Daniel James came in second with 28%, Bruno Fernandes had 24%, and Scott McTominay had 11%. (JSL).
