De Bruyne suffers muscle injury

City midfielder could miss several key games

It’s not the news Manchester City fans want to hear as their side is in the thick of a Premier League title race.

Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne could miss a few upcoming games for his side with a muscle injury.

The Belgian was taken off in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

City boss Pep Guardiola says the injury could be the result of such a heavy schedule.

“I haven’t spoken to the doctor,” says Guardiola.

“Kevin put his hand on his leg, so I have the feeling it will be something muscular,” the Spanish coach said.

“It is normal, these things happen with this amount of games.”

De Bruyne is not the only injury concern for Man City moving forward.

Kyle Walker collided with Villa’s Jack Grealish in the first-half yesterday.

The Sheffield man had to leave the game as a result.

“If Kyle asks to be out, it is because something happened. Hopefully it is just a kick,” says Pep Guardiola.

City is currently in second place in the Premier League two points behind Manchester United but with one game in hand.

The Sky Blues next face Cheltenham Town FC in the FA Cup Saturday.

Their next Premier League match is on Tuesday against West Brom.

Man City are currently riding a six-game winning streak as they hold a 100% so far this year. (JSL).
