Dortmund reportedly accept initial offer from Red Devils for English winger

Let the spending begin for Manchester United. What is expected to be a very busy time for United got off to a quick start with reports English winger Jadon Sancho is on his way to the Premier League giants. According to a report out of English newspaper The Independent Sancho’s current club, Borussia Dortmund are prepared to accept the initial transfer fee of £60 million. Should a deal be reached the transfer price could rise to as high as £100 million. United will hope to acquire Sancho for lower than Dortmund’s asking price with installments and add-ons in the transfer package.

According to several news agencies discussions are still going on between both clubs however the principle of a deal has been set out. We shouldn’t have to wait long to confirm whether or not a deal is reached for the London man as the Bundesliga side need to have all the moves completed by August 10, the day Dortmund return to training ahead of the new season.

Should the transfer be finalized the German side would be getting quite the return on investment given they purchased Sancho from Man City for a mere £7.7 million back in 2017. Sancho has proven his worth and then some this season though scoring 17 goals in the domestic league to go along with 17 assists in 32 appearances.

There are still reports European giants Real Madrid and Liverpool are in the running to purchase Sancho with this year’s EPL champions being his reported preferred choice however it appears Liverpool may no longer be in the running for the 20-year-old.

Of note Sancho did spend 3 seasons at Etihad stadium with Manchester City’s youth team but reportedly took a look around United’s grounds developing a close bond with United youngsters Angel Gomes and DJ Buffonge among others.

The transfer window for the Premier League opened on Monday and will run for 10 weeks until October 5. There will however be a domestic transfer window which will continue all the way up till 5pm on October 16 when clubs will only get to make trades (loans or permanent registrations) with EFL teams (meaning not internationally or with EPL teams).
