Man United’s Europa League match moved to Turin

First leg match to be played at Juventus Allianz Stadium

Changing course

As expected, Manchester United’s Europa League tie next week will move to a neutral site.

Juventus Allianz Stadium will host next Thursday’s match between United and Real Sociedad in the first leg of that round of 32 tie.

The Spanish government has travel restrictions on anyone entering from England because of the new COVID variant.

Yesterday Manchester City’s first leg match with Borussia Monchengladbach got moved from Germany to Budapest.

It’s the third Europa League game in succession for United that will play at a neutral venue.

Last season the knockout stages ended with one-off ties in Germany.

It’s the second time since 2011 that United will visit the Juventus Allianz Stadium.

The second leg of this round of 32 clash goes at Old Trafford on Thursday, February 25.

Next Thursday’s kickoff is at 5:55 pm. (JSL)
