Share Your Opinion – Public Consultation on Proposed Increase in Care Home Fees

If the council agrees to fund someone’s care home placement, money is transferred to a personal budget allocated to meet their assessed needs.

If the care home they choose exceeds the cost of their personal budget, they must cover the difference through a top-up agreement, either a first or third party agreement.

Top-up agreements are becoming more common as care homes increase their fees to keep up with rising costs, and this policy aims to improve understanding and relationships with those affected, addressing their specific concerns.

Our survey is open from 26th February to 2nd April, so simply share your thoughts by completing the survey at https://bit.ly/CH_TopUp.
