Tier 3 Restrictions Start from Friday

The prime minister has announced that higher tier of coronavirus restrictions start from Friday at 00.01 BST.

Boris Johnson said that he offered generous financial support, But Mayor Andy Burnham refused. He said that he had not been offered enough to protect the poorest people in our communities without an additional £65 in support. Greater Manchester would receive £22m in funding as part of a “comprehensive package of support”.

Tier 3 Rules

  1. Pubs and bars not serving meals have to close, household mixing is banned both indoors and outdoors.
  2. Rule of six applies in outdoor spaces including parks.
  3. Wedding receptions are not allowed.
  4. People should try to avoid travelling outside. Guidance against travelling in and out of the area.
