Mexican Striker linked to Red Devils
United to Bolster their impressive strike force
Old Trafford may soon be getting another huge goal scorer to bolster what was an impressive season for a trio of United veterans. According to Portuguese broadcaster RTP Mexican striker Raúl Jiménez will join the 20-time league champions later this summer. Jimenez has been nothing short of extraordinary for Wolverhampton since joining them on-loan from Benfica in June of 2018 leading the Wanderers in goals in the Premier League the past two seasons.
The reported move comes as United are coming off an impressive season from their strike force of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood, who netted 63 goals between them in all competitions during the 2019/20 season. In spite of the impressive totals by the trio acquiring Jimenez may give United something they’ve been needing upfront, a strong physical presence who’s shown to be lethal in the air, and with a knack for match-winning goals.
Getting Jimenez to Man United will likely come at a hefty price. The Mexican is valued at around £50 million by Wolves; An understandable fee given the 2012 Olympic gold medallist has scored 43 goals for the Wanderers in 93 appearances for the club. Jimenez is under contract with Wolves until 2023. (JSL)
