Man Arrested After Attempted Murder In Oldham

A man in Oldham has been charged with attempted murder after a collision involving a car and a pedestrian. The victim man in his 40s was treated in hospital and suffered life-changing leg injuries.

Police were called to Whitehouse Avenue at around 8.20 pm on Friday 14 May with the report of the collision. The 40-year-old man was taken to the hospital immediately and he suffered life-changing injuries.

Jamil Ahmed, of Thurland Road, Oldham was arrested for the incident and charged with attempted murder. He is still in custody and will appear at Minshull Street Crown Court on 17 June 2021.

A second man was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and has since been bailed pending further enquires.
