City match with Villa scheduled for January 20
Sky Blues host Lions at Etihad Stadium
We finally know when Manchester City’s opening fixture will happen.
The match with Aston Villa will not take place on Wednesday, January 20.
Both City and Manchester United got an extra week off at the start of their Premier League campaigns due to their extended seasons in Europe.
The Sky Blues 2019/20 season didn’t end until August 15 when they were eliminated in the Champions League quarterfinals by Lyon 3-1.
The outbreak of COVID meant last season got delayed much later than usual.
Last season City beat Villa twice in Premier League play, 3-0 at home and 6-1 from Villa Park.
The kickoff for this match from Etihad Stadium is at 8:15 pm. (JSL)
