Man apprehended as GMP Serious Collision Unit probes demise of 18-year-old in Altrincham

Authorities have initiated an inquiry and apprehended an 18-year-old gentleman on suspicion of causing death by perilous driving, subsequent to the passing of another 18-year-old man from grave injuries this morning (12th August 2023).

At approximately 5am today, patrolling officers stumbled upon a man with severe injuries on Booth Road in Altrincham.

The 18-year-old was in a precarious state, and despite the valiant efforts of the emergency services, he regrettably expired at the scene due to his injuries.

Investigations have unveiled that the victim ascended onto the bonnet of a vehicle – a grey Ford Ka – and was transported across the junction of Dunham Road onto Booth Road. He plummeted from the bonnet, suffering grievous and ultimately fatal injuries.

The operator of the vehicle did not remain present at the location.

Authorities are now appealing to anyone possessing information that may aid the investigation to make contact. GMP is also eager to receive relevant footage, including CCTV, mobile, or dashcam recordings.
