The Road Closed After Fire In Cheetham Hill

A road in Cheetham Hill has been closed after the fire started in a building. Eight fire engines were sent to the scene.

The fire started at 1.58 am on Cheetham Hill Road in a building that includes a row of restaurants and commercial premises with flats above. After eight fire engines came to the scene, the fire was brought under control.

The source of the fire is still unknown. Enquires are ongoing. Noone was injured due to the fire. Cheetham Hill Road is closed between Derby Street to Broughton Street as a precaution. Also, local bus services are being diverted.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 1.58 am to Cheetham Hill Road in Manchester. Eight fire engines and a turn table ladder were sent to the scene. It was a fire at a row of restaurants and commercial premises with flats above.”

“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire and brought it under control. Thankfully there were no casualties.”
