After a collision between a suspicious Ford Fiesta and two cars, a man has died in Trafford yesterday. The occupants of a second vehicle suffered minor injuries.
Police in Stretford spotted a suspicious Ford Fiesta yesterday at around 1.30 pm and signalled for it to stop. The driver of the car attempted to change direction. A short time later, the Ford had collided with two other cars on Urmston Lane.
The driver of the Ford who is an 18-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries.
Assistant Chief Constable Chris Sykes said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family who had the most tragic news given to them yesterday.”
“We have referred this incident to the IOPC due to the police contact in the moments before this terrible incident, and we will do all we can to support any subsequent investigation.”
