The Most Expensive Petrol Station: £100 Parking Fine
In Wythenshawe, people who use a BP garage on Rowlandsway faced a £100 parking fine. The parking fine was given to the people for staying more than 15 minutes in the petrol station.
A sign in the petrol station explained that the maximum staying duration is 15 minutes for the station. But many people claimed that they only stayed 10 minutes for routine things such as filling petrol and car washing and then they got the fine. Also, many locals said it is an unacceptable fine that the petrol station is a facility which people need to stay longer without time limitations.
Victoria Murphy, one of the drivers who use the petrol station, said that she stayed 10 minutes on November 23 and seven days later, she received a parking fine. She said she only washed her car and didn’t stay longer.
Another driver said he waited in the queue for jet wash and then he got a parking fine for staying more than 15 minutes in the petrol station.
After the reactions of the people, Europarks still hasn’t made an announcement and continued to give parking fine for staying more than 15 minutes in the petrol station. Local people said that they defined the petrol station as “the most expensive petrol station ever”.
