Strech of M60 Has Been Closed Due to Gas Leak

A stretch of M60 has been closed last night after a gas leak was detected on region 17 at Whitefield to Junction 13 the Worsely interchange was completely closed and engineers came to the scene to examine the situation.

According to Highways Agency, the road will be closed until midday of Thursday (January 21, 2021) at least. Delays are expected. Highways Agency advised drivers to use alternative routes for their travels on M60

North West Motorway Police made an announcement on Wednesday evening, tweeting: “Due to a serious incident the M60 clockwise from j13 to j17 is closed all traffic being sent from j13 onto A580 please do not try to get back onto the M60 clockwise. Also the M60 anticlockwise from j17 to j15 is closed, these closures will be on for some time.”
