Murder Of 41-Year-Old Man In Eccles-Two Men Had Been Arrested

After the death of a 41-year-old man in Eccles, a murder investigation has been launched. Two men who are both aged 34 have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Officers were called on 12 April around 11.10 am on Liverpool Road, Eccles for the report of a disturbance. When officers came to the scene, a 41-year-old man who had been stabbed has been found at a property.

In spite of the best efforts of medical staff, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Two men were arrested on suspicion of murder. They are still in custody for questioning.

Detective Chief Inspector Rick Thompson of GMP’s Salford district said: “Firstly, our thoughts are firmly with the family of the man who has sadly lost his life this morning.”

“Whilst our enquiries are in their initial stages, we currently have two men in custody and we believe this incident to be isolated with no immediate threat to the wider community. We do understand the concern and upset incidents such as this can cause for communities and we want to reassure you we are working at pace to ensure we establish the full circumstances.”
