Max Capps, born 17 September 1994 and of no fixed abode, is being sought by police following an incident in the Weaste area of Salford in the early hours of Tuesday 5 December 2023.
The victim was reportedly approached from behind shortly after midnight and struck twice to the head with a weapon, causing him to fall. He was then slashed with a knife in a sustained attack.
As a result, the man suffered a bleed on the brain, a fractured skull, and multiple facial wounds, requiring urgent hospital treatment. He is still recovering from the serious injuries sustained during the assault.
Despite extensive enquiries carried out over the past two years, officers have been unable to locate Capps, who is now believed to be abroad. He has remained outstanding since the offence.
Police are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts, or anyone who may have had contact with him since December 2023, to come forward.
