Following A Serious Collision In Trafford, A Cyclist Suffered Life-Threatening Injuries

After a collision in Trafford at around 1.15 am today, a 28-year-old man suffered from life-threatening injuries. Officers are appealing for information on the collision.

Police were called to Chorlton Road close to the junction of Ayres Road today with a report of a collision. Enquires established that a Volkswagen Scirocco had been in collision with a 28-year-old cyclist.

The cyclist was taken to the hospital immediately. He remains in hospital for his life-threatening injuries. The driver remained at the scene and assisted police with the enquires.No arrests have been made, yet.

Police Constable Neil Pennington of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the man who has sustained serious injuries following this collision and is currently receiving urgent medical treatment.”

“We’re appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the collision, witnessed the collision, or saw either the cyclist or car before the collision to come forward and assist police with our enquiries. We’re particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dash-cam footage around the time of the incident.”
