Work to start on scheme to improve tennis courts

Work is due to start on a scheme to update and improve two tennis centres in Trafford.

A total of eight courts will be refurbished at Longford Park, Stretford, and Ashton Park, Sale, as part of Trafford Council’s Pilot Park Tennis Investment and Sustainability programme. Work is due to start on the two-month long rebuild of Longford Park on April 29 2024, and at Ashton Park on May 7.

As part of the programme, the council teamed up with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to improve and resurface the courts.

Courts and sessions will be available to book online via the LTA website. These also include Pickering Lodge, John Leigh Park, Hale Croft Park, Dayhulme Park, Ashton Park, Stamford Park, Victoria Park, Walton Park and Abbotsfield Park.
