You can add Manchester City striker Raheem Sterling to the list of injuries for the club this season.
The 25-year-old missed yesterday’s UEFA Nations League game with Belgium after sustaining a calf injury in training.
England lost 2-0.
His national team manager Gareth Southgate says: “Raheem felt something a couple of days ago and didn’t train on Friday as a precaution.”
Southgate thinks the Blues forward will be healthy very soon.
“I think he will be fine by the end of the week, but the games for us just came too quickly.”
If so he’ll be available to Pep Guardiola this Saturday when they face Tottenham.
Sterling is the second City player to take a knock during the international break.
Last week Nathan Ake played just three minutes in the Netherlands friendly against Spain.
Fernandinho, and Benjamin Mendy remain out of the lineup.
Sergio Aguero is apparently getting better and could be back for Saturday’s game.
So far this season Sterling’s scored five goals in 12 appearances in all competitions. (JSL)
