Crash Involving A Cyclist On Tyldesley Road

After a crash that involves a cyclist in Atherton, police have cordoned off the main road. An air ambulance has landed at the scene.

Emergency services were called to Tyldesley Road around 7 pm on Friday night. A male was taken to the hospital. Any details on the injuries haven’t been confirmed, yet. Tyldesley Road cordoned off between High Street and Hamilton Street.

A GMP spokesperson said: “At 18:54 hours on Friday, April 30, emergency services responded to reports of a road traffic collision on Market Street Atherton. Emergency services remain at the scene and Market Street is currently closed whilst initial enquires are ongoing.”

“One male has been conveyed to hospital, the extent of injuries not known at this time.”

In a tweet, Manc Traffic said: “A577 Tyldesley Rd, Atherton CLOSED from High St to Hamilton St after a collision involving a cyclist. Air Ambulance at the scene. Likely to be shut for a while. Slow traffic on approach.”
