Police Appeal for Witnesses After Levenshulme Double Stabbing

A violent disturbance sent shock through Levenshulme on Tuesday evening after two youths were stabbed near Rushford Street and Purcell Street shortly before 7pm on 4 February 2025.
Emergency crews dashed to the scene, discovering a 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man with grave knife wounds. Both were rushed to hospital, where they remain in serious but stable condition.
Detective Inspector Terina Arthern, from GMP said:
We have launched an investigation, and we are following several lines of enquiry to establish the timeline of events which led to two young men being injured tonight.
“You may notice additional officers deployed in the local area while we conduct our enquiries. Please do not hesitate to speak to them if you have any concerns or information you’d like to share.
“We are urging anyone who was in the area this evening who may have seen or heard something, or anyone who has any information that will assist our enquiries, to come forward and speak with police.
