Local Offer Live is back this April!

A free event to share the support available to families and young people across Wigan Borough is back for 2026.

This year, Local Offer Live will be at the Progress With Unity Stadium at Leigh Sports Village with sessions running throughout the day.

The event is particularly focused on the support available for children and families with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

It features a marketplace highlighting what’s on offer for children, young people, parents, carers and professionals.

A series of workshops will also take place, helping visitors to explore some of the services in more detail.

Councillor Dane Anderton, cabinet portfolio holder for children and families, said: “This event is a fantastic opportunity for families to speak directly with professionals in one place with teams from the council, NHS, social care, mental health support, local charities and many more.

“By bringing everyone together, in this marketplace style event, we hope to open the doors and make it easier for parents, carers and young people with SEND to find out what is on offer.”

This free event takes place on Monday 27 April, with two sessions running from 10am to 2.30pm and 3.30pm to 6:30pm at Leigh Sports Village Arena.

The event is open to all, and there is no need to book.  Attendees can drop in at any time through the two sessions, and there will be a quiet space available throughout.

There will also be a programme of workshops running during the event, giving families practical information on key SEND topics, with further details to be published in the coming weeks on the Local Offer webpages.

Coun Anderton, added: “Working together with families is central to how we shape SEND services in Wigan Borough and we are committed to making our Local Offer accessible, meaningful and shaped by the people who use it.

“The team have been working with parents, carers, young people and the Wigan Borough Parent Carer Forum to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever, and to make sure it really delivers on what is important for local families.”
