Four Arrests In Salford Murder Investigation: The Tragic Death of 17-Year-Old Boy

After the murder of a 17-year-old boy in Salford, four arrests have been made as a part of the investigation. Enquires are ongoing and police currently are treating the death of the 17-year-old man as a targeted incident.

Police were called to the scene after 8.15 pm on Wednesday night with a report of a stabbing on Peveril Road. Josiah Norman was taken to the hospital immediately, but despite the efforts of medicals staff, he sadly died.

According to extensive enquiries, the victim-Josiah Norman – had been walking down Peveril Street when he assaulted by men from a first vehicle before he was then hit by a second car and then stabbed.

Superintendent Glenn Jones, of GMP’s Salford district, said: “Our thoughts are with Josiah’s family and loved ones and our specialist officers are working closely to support them at this utterly devastating time. This is a shocking incident and one that will understandably cause concern in the local area.”

“I would like to reassure the public that we have a number of scenes in place, on Peveril Road, Stowell Street, and also Montford Steet where two vehicles believed to be linked to the incident were recovered. We also have a significant number of high-visibility patrols in the area, and they will remain in the area going into the weekend.”

“We know there were witnesses to this horrific incident, and we urge anyone with information to come forward by calling the police, report it online, or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, in order to bring those responsible to justice for Josiah’s family.”
