Police started an investigation after several cars of residents of Tonge Moor and Back Tonge Moor Road was attacked and cash was stolen at the weekend.
On Saturday morning, the residents found their cars were attacked that the windows and doors were smashed. One resident saw in his home CCTV camera that three people attacked the cars with hammers.
Enquires are ongoing and no arrests have been made, yet.
A spokesman from GMP said “Police were called to reports of theft from a motor vehicle on Tonge Moor Road in the early hours of Saturday, 30 January. The offenders are believed to have stolen a quantity of cash after smashing the windows of the car. Two further reports of criminal damage of cars were also reported on the same street and are believed to have occurred at a similar time”
Ward councillor and leader of the Bolton Labour group, Nick Peel, said that “This is definitely an isolated incident which makes it even more shocking and despicable when it happens. There are no excuses for this type of behaviour ever.”
