Another four people fined for fly-tipping

Four more people have been fined for dumping their waste on the streets of Bury, bringing the total to eight in the last month.

Fixed penalty notices of £400 were served on each of them for offences of fly-tipping at Seddon Street, Radcliffe; Bright Street, Bury; Church Walk, Radcliffe; and St Peter’s Road, Bury.

More than 200 fines have been issued for littering and fly-tipping across Bury in the last three years, and more than 20 people have been prosecuted in court.

Councillor Alan Quinn, cabinet member for the environment, climate change and operations, said: “These criminals know what they’re doing, and they don’t care if they spoil our neighbourhoods for the residents who live there. We will continue to take action against those who fly-tip in our borough.”
