Vapes Seized in Middleton as Police Crack Down on Anti-Social Behavior and Illegal Premises

Rochdale’s Neighbourhood Team is intensifying efforts to combat illicit vapes, illegal products, and unlicensed premises through coordinated actions with community partners. On Friday, 30 August, officers collaborated with Rochdale’s Trading Standards team and licensing officers to inspect various businesses in Middleton, including takeaways, small shops, pubs, and other locations suspected of illegal activities.

These operations are part of Operation Venture, a Greater Manchester Police initiative aimed at tackling serious and violent crime across the region. By targeting businesses involved in the illegal sale of vapes and alcohol, officers aim to prevent associated issues such as anti-social behavior (ASB), street drinking, littering, and addiction.

During the recent actions, officers and Trading Standards seized hundreds of vapes and other illegal products not permitted in the UK, issuing necessary paperwork and notices to the businesses involved. Some stores were found to be registered under incorrect ownership and were ordered to close until proper arrangements are made.

Further interventions are planned for repeat offenders who fail to comply with regulations, ensuring continued efforts to uphold community safety and legal standards.
