
Thomas Smethurst (24/07/00), of no fixed above, and a 17-year-old boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons, have each been charged with two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, two counts of attempted theft from a motor vehicle, two counts of attempted theft, theft, and handling stolen goods.
In relation to another investigation from 2024, Smethurst was also charged with four counts of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a bladed article in public, going equipped for theft, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and burglary.
He also receive further charges of dangerous driving and driving while disqualified. The teenage boy was also charged with a further theft and burglary.
Both were remanded into custody to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court today (3 April 2025).
