Triumph at Castleshaw Centre as fresh funding secured to sustain exciting outdoor pursuits

The Castleshaw Centre in Saddleworth has been a beloved spot for outdoor activities for over a century, offering abseiling, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, and more. Thanks to a successful funding bid, the centre has received £165,000 from the Youth Investment Fund for much-needed repairs. Councillor Shaid Mushtaq expressed delight at securing the funding, ensuring that future generations of Oldhamers can continue to enjoy the centre’s offerings. This grant is part of a larger initiative benefiting 140 youth projects across England, supported by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the charity Social Investment Business.
