Six more fined for fly-tipping and littering

Six people have been fined for fly-tipping or littering on the streets of Bury in September.

Fixed penalty notices were served on them: £75 for the littering offences and £400 for those of fly-tipping.

The offences were committed at: Ferngrove in Bury; Haworth Walk, Radcliffe; Coomassie Street, Radcliffe; and three incidents at Ainsworth Road, Radcliffe. A caution was given for an offence at Spring Lane, Radcliffe.

Nearly 200 fines have been issued for littering and fly-tipping across Bury in the last three years, and more than 20 people have been prosecuted in court.

Councillor Alan Quinn, cabinet member for the environment, climate change and operations, said: “We will continue to take action against those who dump their rubbish on our streets and green spaces. If anyone witnesses these crimes, please give us all the information you have and we will act.”
