Radcliffe parents opt for nearby High School

The upcoming Radcliffe High School, known as Star Radcliffe Academy, has received an impressive 160 applications from residents of Bury. The academy, set to open in September, will be equipped with temporary modular classrooms while the construction of permanent facilities is underway. The new building, slated to be completed by autumn 2025, is being built on the same site. The local community’s enthusiastic response to the new school reflects a promising future for education in Radcliffe, which has been without a secondary school for over a decade. Star Radcliffe Academy, part of the esteemed Star Academies trust, is set to offer top-tier education to its students. Councillor Lucy Smith, championing the cause for a local high school for years, expressed her delight at the progress. Principal Paul Johnson of Star Radcliffe Academy is pleased with the overwhelming interest from local families and looks forward to welcoming the first cohort of Year 7 pupils in September. The academy aims to collaborate with the community to provide the best opportunities for the youth of Radcliffe.
