The operation, conducted on Wigan Road and Deane Road by Rumworth and Hulton Neighbourhood Team alongside officers from the Tutor Unit, aimed to ensure compliance with road laws and improve public safety.
Offences recorded during the operation included:
- Driving without a seatbelt
- Using a mobile phone while driving
- Illegal number plates
- Broken brake lights
- Possession of cannabis
Drivers found in violation were dealt with through traffic offence reports and community resolutions.
The operation aligns with April’s national road safety campaign, which highlights the Fatal 4 offences—drink and drug driving, distraction (including mobile phone use), speeding, and failure to wear seatbelts.
Police emphasize that proactive enforcement will continue as they work to reduce road traffic collisions and fatalities across Greater Manchester.
