Police and Bomb Squad On Site: Suspicious Items Were Found
In the south of Manchester, suspicious items were found at a property. Police and bomb squad came to the property. Residents were evacuated from their homes as a precaution.
A bomb squad was seen in Fallowfield. On Wilmslow Road, between Derby Road and Brook Road, emergency services started to wait. Police and firefighters were also at the property.
Police started to investigate the property around 9.50 pm on Friday evening. The investigation still continues and the police and bomb squad were at the property all night.
A spokesperson from GMP said: “A property has been evacuated as a precaution while enquries are ongoing. Bomb disposal are due to make an assessment of items found within the property. This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is not believed to be any wider threat.”
Police cars, bomb squad, firefighters, and emergency services still on the scene. There is no announcement on suspicious items and other details, yet.
