Oldham Council extends invitation to businesses for inaugural Green Summit
Businesses with an interest in sustainability are invited to attend Oldham Council’s inaugural Green Summit. The event, organised by Cllr Abdul Jabbar MBE, aims to bring together local organisations to combat climate change, share best practices, and learn about available green grants and financial support.
Cllr Abdul Jabbar, Cabinet Member for Finance and Corporate Resources, emphasised the importance of collective effort in making Oldham the greenest borough in Greater Manchester. He highlighted the council’s Green New Deal strategy to achieve carbon neutrality in council buildings and street lighting by 2025, and for the borough as a whole by 2030.
The Green Summit will take place on Friday 8th March at the Oldham Event Centre, offering free parking, refreshments, and lunch. Limited spaces are available, so interested businesses are encouraged to email [email protected] to secure their spot.
