Manchester Metropolitan and Hubei University celebrate Graduations from Joint Education Institute

Last week marked a proud milestone for Manchester Metropolitan University, as the first cohort of students graduated from the Joint Education Institute (JEI) with Hubei University in Wuhan, China.

The graduation ceremonies celebrate the achievements of students who have completed dual-degree programmes designed to provide a world-class education and a truly global perspective.

The JEI, launched as part of the University’s International Strategy, brings together the expertise of both institutions to offer students an enriched academic experience. The partnership reflects the University’s wider ambitions to build strong global connections, foster cultural exchange and create opportunities that prepare students for success in an interconnected world.

Colleagues from both universities gathered in Wuhan for the Graduations, with Manchester Metropolitan’s Vice-Chancellor attending in person to mark the occasion.

Reflecting on the significance of the event, Professor Malcolm Press CBE DL, said: “This partnership exemplifies the power of international collaboration. As we look to the future, both our institutions remain committed to strengthening our partnership and expanding opportunities for students and colleagues as part of our shared commitment to global engagement.

“I am incredibly proud of our graduates, pioneers of this joint programme – and of the colleagues who have worked together to make this vision a reality.”
