Major Firearm and Drug Bust Leads to Long Prison Sentences

A firearm linked to multiple violent incidents across Greater Manchester has been seized following a proactive investigation into a Manchester-based organised crime group (OCG) responsible for supplying heroin and crack cocaine.

Specialist detectives from Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Organised Crime Group identified Clint Curtis as the primary controller of the ‘Lex’ drug line, which trafficked drugs via vulnerable individuals. Jerome Williams and David Curtis were also found to have handled the line at times.

Between October 9, 2023, and April 1, 2024, investigators tracked nearly 50,000 messages sent through the Lex line advertising drugs for sale. Police estimate that the group distributed over three kilos of narcotics, with a street value of £300,000.

Surveillance operations revealed that Curtis frequently changed vehicles and mobile phones, violating his license conditions from a previous conviction. On April 24, 2024, police raided several suspected safe houses in Moss Side, recovering heroin, crack cocaine, and evidence linking the suspects to the locations.

Further searches in May uncovered a firearm and multiple rounds of ammunition in a property on Caythorpe Street, Moss Side. Forensic testing confirmed the weapon’s use in four previous shootings, including a fatal 2012 incident.

On May 22, coordinated police operations led to multiple arrests, with Clint Curtis apprehended in Ardwick, and David Curtis arrested in Radcliffe after attempting to hide in a loft. Jerome Williams later surrendered to authorities.

Investigations also revealed Curtis boasting in rap videos about evading police, a claim proven false as he now faces nearly two decades behind bars.

  • Clint Curtis (born August 9, 1995) pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and was convicted of firearm and ammunition offences. He was sentenced to 19 years and four months.
