‘KitKat’ Drug Dealer Sentenced to Three Years Behind Bars After County Lines Investigation

A man who operated a drug enterprise using the moniker 'KitKat' is currently serving a custodial sentence of three years, following his conviction.

Ethan Rouse (born on 01/02/2001), residing on Madams Wood Road, Salford, was sentenced on Thursday, 3rd August 2023, at Manchester Crown Court. His conviction was a result of his involvement in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin.

The county lines team of Greater Manchester Police undertook an extensive investigation into the ‘KitKat’ drugs operation, spanning several weeks. In-depth analysis of phone records unveiled a pattern of broadcast messages being disseminated to drug users within the Cheshire area.

Subsequent scrutiny of these messages exposed the sale of crack cocaine and heroin, often involving bi-daily communications to numerous recipients.

The phone’s movement was observed frequently between Salford and Cheshire, allowing officers to pinpoint the primary location of its activation.

On 7th June 2023, a warrant was executed in Little Hulton, leading to Rouse’s apprehension. During the operation, £2,000 in cash was seized.

The County Lines Team from Greater Manchester Police collaborated closely with Cheshire Police, maintaining regular communication and ensuring a comprehensive and rigorous investigative process.

Simultaneously, the Operation Arctic Team in Salford played a vital role, leading to Rouse’s sentencing for possession with intent to supply class A drugs. He was handed a concurrent sentence of 31 months for these offenses.
