Groundbreaking begins at Chadderton’s fresh recreational haven

Construction work has commenced on a brand-new park in Chadderton, as part of the Broadway Green development. Bellaire Contractors Ltd have started the initial phase of the project, which aims to transform the local community with green spaces. Alongside the park, the development will include new homes, employment space, and job opportunities. Councillor Chris Goodwin visited the site to meet the hard-working individuals bringing the park to life. The first phase will focus on creating footpaths, planting trees and shrubs, and establishing wildflower meadows. A play area for families will also be installed, blending in with the surroundings. Councillor Arooj Shah, Leader of Oldham Council, expressed excitement about the positive impact the park will have, highlighting the need for more quality homes in the area. Completion of the park is expected in Spring 2025. Councillor Chris Goodwin, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, described the project as not only creating a green space, but also prioritizing the well-being of residents. The development at Broadway Green is being carried out in partnership with Oldham Council, Seddon, and Grasscroft Property.
