Festive free parking returns to Salford
Salford City Council is spreading festive cheer once again by offering free parking at selected pay and display car parks in the lead-up to Christmas.
Residents and visitors can take advantage of free parking on Saturdays 7, 14, and 21 December to explore Salford’s shopping centres, restaurants, cafés, and landmarks.
Saturday 7 December is Small Business Saturday and the council will be giving an extra push on social media to encourage people to shop with local small businesses.
Salford City Mayor Paul Dennett said: “We’re proud to continue supporting our local businesses and communities this festive season. By offering free parking at selected council-run car parks, we hope to encourage people to shop local, enjoy Salford’s fantastic offerings, and make the most of the run-up to Christmas.”
The car parks included are:
- Hankinson Way, Salford
- John William Street, Eccles
- St Mary’s Road, Eccles
- Corporation Road, Eccles
- Irwell Place, Eccles
- Partington Street, Monton
- Church Street, Swinton
Notices will be posted at these locations. All other conditions of use, such as parking within marked bays and displaying a Blue Badge if applicable, remain in place.
