Appeal for information after 85-year-old woman has bag taken from her in robbery

Officers are appealing for information after an 85-year-old woman had her bag taken off her while walking home in the Bolton area on Monday 10 March.

The woman had been to the post office on Bury Road in Bolton at around 10am, when another person approached her and took her bag from her on Forton Avenue, near the junction of Breightmet Drive. It is believed that the suspect had followed the woman prior to the robbery.

The suspect is believed to have ran back up Forton Avenue, before turning onto Ribble Avenue and running across the field on Garstang Way.

Officers are now appealing for information as they continue their investigation into the incident.

They have additionally released images of someone that they would like to talk to, as it is believed that they could help with their enquiries.

Local residents are also asked to please check any CCTV or doorbell footage from around the time of the incident, and to get in touch with officers if they have any information.
