New night buses and more frequent services coming to Oldham

Night buses are coming to Oldham.

People in Oldham will soon see better bus services, with more frequent journeys and new night buses on the way later this year.

The changes are part of wider improvements to the Bee Network across Greater Manchester, following feedback from passengers about what would make bus travel easier.

What’s changing in Oldham

One of the biggest updates is to the 83 bus, which links Oldham, Failsworth and Hollinwood with Manchester city centre.

  • A new night bus will run on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays
  • More frequent buses during the day, evenings and weekends
  • Improvements to help make journeys more reliable

These changes will make it easier for people to get to work, head into Manchester, or get home safely after a night out.

Better connections for residents

The improvements are designed to help people get around more easily, whether that’s commuting, visiting family or enjoying everything Greater Manchester has to offer.

For those working late or early shifts, the new night buses will provide a more reliable option, especially in areas where public transport has been limited outside normal hours.

Part of a wider plan

Across Greater Manchester, a number of changes are being introduced to improve bus services, including new routes, more frequent buses and better links to key destinations.

The improvements follow the move to bring buses back under local control, giving Greater Manchester more say over how services are run and where improvements are needed most.
