Woman admits to manslaughter in the stabbing of 7-year-old girl

Eltiona Skana denies murder in a stabbing at Queen’s Park

A 30-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in a Manchester court.

Eltiona Skana admits to unlawfully killing 7-year-old Emily Jones back on March 22 at Queen’s Park in Bolton.

Skana, originally from Albania, however, denies murder in the incident.

The stabbing took place right in front of Jones’ parents in the park.

Following the incident, Skana was arrested and detained under the Mental Health Act.

She’s being held at the Rampton Hospital in Nottinghamshire.

Prosecuting attorneys have seven days to consider the plea of manslaughter.

The murder trial starts on November 23.

It’s expected there’ll be another hearing within the next week. (JSL)
