The Ceremonial Mayor of Salford, Councillor Tanya Burch, is preparing for an exciting experience as she gets ready for a skydive on Saturday 31 August 2024.
The skydive is being undertaken to raise vital funds for her charity appeal, supporting two very worthy causes; St Ann’s Hospice – Little Hulton and Royal Naval Association – Pendleton.
For those wishing to support the Ceremonial Mayor’s skydive, donations can be made via the fundraising page on Salford City Councils website.
Joining the Ceremonial Mayor on this adventure will be Vikas Shah MBE, Deputy Lieutenant for Greater Manchester, and his wife Rachel. Together, they will be jumping from a plane in an effort to raise awareness and funds for the charities chosen this year.
Speaking ahead of the event, Ceremonial Mayor Tanya Burch expressed her excitement and commitment to the cause:
“I’m thrilled to be taking part in this skydive for such important charities. Salford residents, Council colleagues, friends and family have been extremely supportive and quite a few are coming to the airdrome on the day. Please pray for the sunshine!
“I’m delighted to be able to contribute to the brilliant work these charities are doing, and I hope this event will inspire others to get involved in their own way.”
