A team from Salford City Council recently travelled to Cannes, France to participate in the prestigious property and investment conference, MIPIM. From 12 to 15 March, the team represented the city and presented the council’s vision for the future on a global stage.
MIPIM, short for Le Marché International des Professionnels de L’immobilier in French, is a significant event that attracts 20,000 delegates from 90 countries, making it a key property and investment conference internationally.
The Salford City Council team, including Deputy City Mayor Councillor Tracy Kelly, Chief Executive Tom Stannard, Executive Director of Place John Searle, and Head of Partnerships and Investment Sarah Ashurst, attended the event to showcase Salford as a city with ambition on an international platform, highlight development opportunities, and create connections with investors.
The team also collaborated with Marketing Manchester to position Salford within the wider Manchester region. Key discussions at the conference focused on the city’s growth, recent positive employment statistics, developments in MediaCity, place-making initiatives, connectivity, cultural offerings, and regeneration of town centres.
To further raise awareness of Salford’s activities at MIPIM and share the ongoing regeneration story, a showcase has been created on Linked IN. This platform provides the latest news and developments in the Salford Regeneration Story.
Overall, the team’s participation at MIPIM was a success in promoting Salford’s vision for the future and attracting potential investors to the city.
