Manchester’s Libraries Supplying COVID-19 Rapid Tests

Free at-home COVID-19 tests are now available at Manchester’s ten local libraries. To prevent the further spread of coronavirus, mass rapid testing is being made available to many people across Greater Manchester.

The at-home COVID-19 test only takes 30 minutes to be processed and a positive or a negative result can be obtained in just one hour. According to the ongoing plan, members of the public can pick up two free tests to reduce the need for the next lockdown restrictions.

Libraries aren’t the only places that the tests are available. The tests are available at dozens of pharmacies throughout Greater Manchester. For the residents who are not able to leave their homes, tests can also be ordered online.

David Regan, Director of Public Health in Manchester, said: “One of the key pillars of life returning to normal has been the expansion of testing in the city. Since the beginning of the year, we have been working on how to make Covid tests as easily accessible as possible for our residents.”

“By making tests available at well-used and easily found public spaces like libraries we are taking down barriers that could otherwise prevent someone from knowing if they have Covid.”
