Five-Year-Old Girl Was Hit By A Car In Salford

A five-year-old girl was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Salford. The driver of the car, a woman who is aged 40, was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

Police were called to Lower Broughton Road after the reports of the collision at around 6.20 pm on Wednesday. A five-year-old girl was taken to the hospital immediately with serious injuries. Her condition isn’t life-threatening.

The driver of the car, a white Mercedes, was arrested on suspicion of driving offences. One of the eyewitnesses of the incident said: “When I saw all the road blocked off by police, you could tell there had been a serious incident.”

“There are lots of kids that play around there and cars can tend to speed. I hope the little girl is okay, from what people have said she was awake when she went in the ambulance.”

In a statement, GMP said: “Police were called by the Ambulance Service to a report of a collision between a white Mercedes estate car and a child on Lower Broughton Road, Salford at around 6.20 pm on Wednesday 12 May 2021. The child, aged five, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.”
